Yeah, this probably looks like a lot of toners... and it is. I only feel like two of them actually do anything, and the other two are just fun!
Aveda Botanical Kinetics Toning Mist: This smells so yummy and I think that's probably the only reason I buy it. I spray this in the mornings after I shower, and only those specific occasions because it's a bit of a treat. I like these spray toners to help smooth on my moisturizer and this does that, but the refreshing scent and mist is really what I like to help wake me up.
La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water: The spray on this is awesome, super fine mist and it just feels fabulous when you spray it on. It is supposed to help calm your skin, and it has zinc in it which helps acne and scarring, apparently. I think it does help calm my skin in some ways, and also helps to smooth on my moisturizer as well. I use this at night and sometimes in the morning as well.
Aesop B & Tea Balancing Toner: I spend way too much money at Aesop. Whoops. This toner was given to me as a sample the first time I went in there, and after a week I had to pick up the actual bottle. It just helps to balance and calm things (sensing a theme here?) on my face and it smells nice and feels quite luxurious, which is why I use it at night.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Clarifying Solution: Purely a Caroline Hirons influenced purchase. This toner primarily comes in a set of Effaclar products, and it has salicylic acid and glycolic acid which are both chemical exfoliants. I have stopped using physical exfoliants because I couldn't really find a product I liked, plus my skin has calmed down immensely compared to when I was in high school dealing with crazy acne. This toner helps keep the acne at bay and exfoliate my face. I like to use this in the morning, and I always put on sunscreen after to protect my skin after the exfoliation.
What is your favorite toner?
