Product Round Up: Black Eye Liner

I have always loved pencil eye liner. Even though I started off with liquid liner (who let me do that?!), as soon as I discovered pencils I was converted. Here I have a selection of some that I've tested out and enjoyed.

Rimmel Scandeleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Black
Let's start with the drugstore ones, shall we? These Rimmel liners are a really great deal and I own several. The black one is okay, it's probably my least favorite of the collection due to the lack of color payoff. Also, these tend to get a bit dry, and the black one suffers the most when that happens. But, I love the nude, purple, navy, and taupe colors of this line, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Jane
Purchased because of rave reviews from Tati, this liner is one of the best I've tried from the drugstore. It's twist up, which works well for this lazy lady as it means I don't constantly have to sharpen it. It's blacker than the Rimmel liner, but not the most opaque ever. It's very waterproof and also works well on the tight line but doesn't offer too much impact. For the price, this is an excellent product.

Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero
This is from an Ipsy bag forever ago, and I should probably chuck it, but it's really quite good so I haven't been able to yet. It's not the blackest black I have ever used, but it's very creamy and applies really nicely. I also like that I don't need this to be fully sharpened for it to work, because I'm a bit lazy when it comes to sharpening these things. I would repurchase this, but honestly I think I like other liners better. However, for any kind of variety, this line is awesome.

Too Faced
I've already talked about this a little bit here, but I mainly use this for tight lining. It's so creamy, almost a little too creamy, and very black. I like to use it on my upper lash line when I'm going for some major drama, but it's not an everyday product for me. It is very easy to smudge out with the little device on the end, which I like a lot, so that smudging device will come in handy even with other liners.

Hourglass Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Obsidian
The newest addition to my collection, and probably my new favorite. The tip on this is so tiny. It's amazing. It offers major control and the formula is super duper black. I'm already in love. The only downside is the price, because since it is so tiny, I wonder how much product I'm actually getting for $16. Time will be the true test of this, but I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a super pigmented and easy to use, long lasting liner.

What is your favorite pencil eye liner?
